Two New Excerpts from “Lost in the Whirlwind: A Guide to the Music and World of Tupac Shakur”

21 years ago today, on September 7, 1996, Tupac Shakur was fatally wounded during a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada.  In keeping with my habit of publishing articles related to Tupac on dates that are significant to his life and death, I wanted to share two excerpts from my upcoming book, Lost in the Whirlwind: A Guide to the Music and World of Tupac Shakur, with you.

The last time that I shared an excerpt, it was about one of Tupac’s albums, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.  This time, I want you to see different kinds of entries.  I hope you will read and enjoy “Blindness,” which is a brief analysis of one of the themes in Tupac’s work, and “Censorship,” a discussion of some of the attacks on the rap music genre.  Check them, and accompanying Apple Music playlists, out below:
